Invention vs Inventor     Invention facts: 1.The X-ray has led to many advances in medicine, and its inventor Wilhelm refused to take out a patent because he wanted everyone to benefit from its use. 2.X-ray refers to the method used to obtain the image and to the image itself. 3.X-ray is spelled many different ways including x ray, X ray, X-ray, and x-ray. 4.Wilhelm Roentgen used a zinc box and lead box, when taking x-rays. He did this to protect photographic plates also stored in his lab from being destroyed. He was unaware that this protected him as well. Too much exposure to X-rays can cause cancer. 5.Scientists that were not yet aware of the dangers of exposure to X-rays often suffered burns, radiation sickness, loss of hair, and cancers.         Inventor facts :   1.  In honor of his accomplishments, in 2004 the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry named element 111, roentgenium, a radioactive element

Electricity Who create electricity? Since electricity is a natural  force that exists in our world, it didn't have to be invented. It did, however, have to be discovered  and understood. Most people give credit to Benjamin Franklin for discovering electricity. When was discovered? In 1752 Benjamin shows that light was electricity. How was discovered? Just as he thought, electricity from the storm clouds  transferred  to the kite and electricity flowed down the string and gave him a shock. He's lucky that he didn't get hurt, but he didn't mind the shock since it proved his idea.  Building upon Franklin's work, many other scientists studied electricity and began to understand more about how it works. Why is important electricity?  Electricity is one of the most important blessings that science has given to mankind. It has also become a part of modern life a

Who:  As to who discovered it, many misconceptions abound. Some give credit to Benjamin Franklin for discovering electricity, but his experiments only helped establish the connection between lightning and electricity, nothing more. When: Electricity was discovered in 1879 by Benjamin Franklin with his research work. What: Electricity is a natural phenomenon that occurs throughout nature and takes many different forms.  Electricity is the flow of electrons. All matter is made up of atoms, and an atom has a center, called a nucleus. The nucleus contains positively charged particles called protons and uncharged particles called neutrons. Where: Electricity is a form of energy and it occurs in nature, so it was not invented. Or in USA by Benjamin Franklin. Why: To have a source of light Benjamin Franklin was searching with he’s work what to do about it to find out the things we can do with electricity. How: Through the investigations of Benjamin Franklin we find out that w
